International sports events of Bangladesh Archery Federation
International sport is a sport in which the participants represent different countries. The most well-known international sports event is the Olympic Games. Modern international sports events can be a big business for as well as influencing the political, economic, and other cultural aspects of countries around the world. Especially with politics and sports, sports can affect countries, their identities, and in consequence, the world.
In the year of 2003 from 3 to 8th November Bangladesh Archery Federation (BAF) starts to join its first international event named 13th Asian Archery Championship at Yangon, Myanmar. Our archery team took part in a similar next event at New Delhi, India in 2005. The team attend on 1st South Asian Archery Championship in 2006, 10th SA Games at Srilanka and 2nd Commonwealth Archery Championship at India on the same year. In 2007, our archery team joined on 1st Asian Archery Grand Prix at Thailand. In 2009, the team attend on Asian Youth Olympic Continental Qualifying Test and the next year they joined Youth Olympic Games. The team joined on 19th Commonwealth Games in India and 16th Asian Games in China on the year of 2010. 2011 our archery team attend on Asian Youth Archery Championship, Dhaka, World Archery Championship, Italy and Olympic Qualifying Test at Iran. 2012, archery team attend on World Ranking Tournament and 30th London Olympic Games. 2013, Bangladesh team joined on 3rd Islamic Solidarity Games, Indonesia. Since the first international tournament, the Bangladesh archery team has participated in each of these competitions every time.
